just a chance that maybe we’ll find better days
This morning I woke up and realized that with just one blink, two and a half months have flown by.
What happened?
I don’t even know where to begin.
This is turning out to be one of the best summers of my life so far. Not only is work great, the people I’ve met, the places I’ve gone, and the things I have done have been amazing.
I haven’t smiled this much, laughed this much, sung this much, danced this much, or even loved (or felt loved) this much, in a long while.
We have been playing sports, biking, watching movies, driving around, eating out, going places, and fooling around like children… just enjoying life to the fullest.
I’m happy.
My recent highlights have been:
- The random trip to Lake Simcoe and being thrown into the water fully-clothed
- Watching the World Cup matches, all the way to watching the final amidst the French fans at the SkyDome.
- White-Water Rafting and camping with friends in Ottawa
- The numerous trips to Unionville Main Street for ice cream and gelato… mmmmm.
- Canada Day randomness at Em’s house which featured yummy food and exciting sparklers
- Our random trip to Playdium where Anila almost killed us both during the go-kart race and where a few of us tore up the dance floor on DDR ;)
Among all of this wonderful stuff have been some serious things, some of which are still going on, things that have had me offering support and trying to help in every way that I can, and some things that I’m still scared and worried about.
It’s been a summer that’s changing me as I move from one phase of my life to the next. I’m realizing what life is really all about, what things do indeed matter more than others, and what do not.
I am not looking forward to September when life changes yet again and a lot of my friends here move back to school.
I already know that I’ll be asking people to “wake me up when September ends”.
