Archive for May 2005:

say hello, wave goodbye

I thought about coming on here and writing a really thoughtful entry. I’ve been reading a lot more lately (yay) and so my vocabulary and ’story-telling’ moods have been building up again.

But I went and wrote a bunch of stuff in other places (e-mails, private spaces, etc) and so my creativity/thoughtfulness is running low…

I’m going to write two thoughts that popped up somewhere else:

“The number one thing I learned over my second year of university is that your whole world can change over the course of one day and you will never know what will happen tomorrow. So, live today to the fullest.

If I didn’t learn that lesson the first time something happened, I sure learned it after numerous other events passed….”

“You should learn from the past and let it go, let the present and future weave its path for you to follow. Everything happens for a reason.”

hate it or love it, the underdogs on top!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Liverpool won the Champions League Cup! We are the champions of Europe! And the Cup is going to go to Anfield and stay there forever!!!

At half time we were losing 3-0 to Milan and then we came back, scored three goals in 6 minutes and then held it all the way to penalty shots…. and then we won!!!!

I’ve never screamed, run around, and jumped about so much before! I was losing it! And that’s no exageration…..

I’m so excited right now and I’m trying to figure out how I want to celebrate! Heh :D

Everyone thought they would never make it to the final even! Beat some amazing teams and won the cup!

WOOO!!!

(and a side note? Now I’m really going to push for going to Anfield… I have to see that trophy!!!)

mahi ve (or is it spelt maahi? whatever)

I thought I should post on here again. It has been a while.

We all went camping over the long weekend and it was a blast. Had some hilarious, fun and interesting times.

I mean to get off my lazy ass (or rather, sit down on it) and set up my millions of pictures for all of you… it’s always on my list of things to do but we’ll see when that actually happens.

Summer school is going alright… (like there’s anything really interesting to say about that right now…)

Anyway I don’t know if I mentioned it on here but I am going to England at the end of the summer and my cousin will be coming back here with me afterwards… so I have something fun to look forward to :D

I’m hoping that we will be able to go down to Liverpool because I want to visit Anfield before LFC move stadiums. I also realized that the season will have started up by the time I get there so I would love to go see a match. But let’s see what happens with that.

(plus all this stuff costs money… money that I don’t really have…)

Ahhh the Champions League final is tomorrow…. I don’t know if Liverpool will win but I hope they do. It’s going to be an interesting match anyway.

Go Reds Go!!

(and with that, I’m going to end this no-real-substance post)

life is like an ice cream cone; enjoy it before it melts

The past few days have been really interesting.

We’ve been cleaning and organizing, as well as doing some homework, and then hanging out and having fun.

Yesterday was a really fun day as a bunch of us went down to the park (the one with the river) and had a mini-picnic and ran around.

Then in the evening, we drove to the beach (approx. an hour away) and had a blast… I have some great pictures that (like I usually say), will be posted somewhere soon.

This summer is an interesting one as we have work to do, but not as much as we usually do, so we can still hang out and do random things to have fun.

For the past couple of days I’ve gone running everyday and it really refreshes me… let’s see how long I can keep the trend going…

Ok I got sidetracked while writing this because I was uploading pictures. So now the main focus of this entry has slipped my mind…

Oh well….

it’s only love…

Summer school classes started for me this week and so far it’s been good. It’ll probably get harder as the weeks go on.

That’s ok… it’s expected.

When I went home for that week, I did a lot of random things. And I still didn’t do all that I had planned to do (including meeting up with more of my friends - timing wasn’t right and my parents still wanted me to come home before dark…*sigh*).

Highlights were:
- the Garbage concert with The Dead 60s opening… awesome awesome awesome! (just as cool as the show were the people around us joking and talking to us while we waited, and the three gay guys beside me who were talking and making me laugh hysterically as they made fun of “Holla Back Girl”)
- shopping at Eaton’s Center, Fairview and Markville…. *raises an eyebrow*
- watching movies and starting the catching up process…there are still so many I need to see
- starting my summer reading again :D Yay. (I had realized at the end of the year that I couldn’t read during the school year because I would be reading all day doing school work, so when I stopped to take a break and perhaps read fiction, my eyes and brain were too tired…)
- spending time with the few friends I did end up seeing….

I came back to London on Saturday, helped people move houses, and then had a barbeque. Then on Sunday we cleaned our house (spring cleaning baby!) and ran around to buy birthday presents.

Then we left for Niagara Falls and had an awesome time. I’m going to be posting some pictures soon.

Highlights:
- the drive there and back in two cars, each had one of the walkie-talkies I bought… so good, so funny
- me going to the casino and investing $5 and coming out with $9. Woo. (*laughs at self*)
- charades! wooooo!!! go team go! heh
- the haunted house that we ran through… lol.
- maid of the mist and getting soaked but so close to the falls and laughing hysterically with Chels…
- Justin at Boston Pizza (for those who didn’t go: a random drunk American approached us after I jumped up and down excitedly and pointed towards the arcade games. He kept throwing us his credit card to buy drinks…..)
- swimming in the hotel as well as sitting in the hot tub (*sighs happily*)

…. there’s more, but really the best part was just being able to spend some quality time with my friends and none of us having to worry about anything :D

Now we’re back in London and it’s odd because usually the city is bustling with activity, with students everywhere. Now when you walk around, it seems empty of young life.

Things seem weird because some people have left, people have moved houses, we have work to do but don’t at the same time, the weather has been odd for a while……

And I keep thinking about too many things that I shouldn’t be thinking about and remembering all sorts of memories. I’ve been thinking about a wide range of topics that keep randomly switching in my mind… It’s continuing to push me back behind those old walls that I used to have up around me…. good or bad thing, I don’t know….

And I miss some people already and the craziness we all had this year. These are some of the people who kept a smile on my face when things got hard…. *sigh*

Well, only a few months and we’ll all be back again ;)
